Mechanics Cooperative Bank supports United Way

Mechanics Cooperative Bank recently donated $10,000 to help increase the United Way of Greater Fall River’s annual capital campaign.

Campaign funds are used to serve more than 31 health and human service agencies in the Fall River area, including food pantries and soup kitchens. Last year, more than 60,000 community residents benefited from the United Way and the services provided through its affiliated agencies.

“Without this financial support and the commitment of Mechanics Cooperative Bank, many local organizations and thousands of people in Greater Fall River would not get the help they need,” said Bob Horne, executive director of the United Way of Greater Fall River. “We could not be more thankful to have a great local partner like Mechanics Cooperative Bank.”

Joseph T. Baptista Jr., president and CEO of Mechanics Cooperative Bank said he and his employees are proud to support the organization and understand the importance of the services it provides. In addition to the bank’s corporate sponsorship, some employees donate personally through volunteerism and payroll deductions.
