Attorney Alicia Samolis feels very lucky to have the opportunity to specialize in employment law – or what she calls the “juicy side” of business law.

“Employment disputes often involve a lot of human elements,” said Samolis, a partner at Partridge Snow & Hahn LLP in Providence since 2014. “Claims are often fueled by hurt feelings, interpersonal relationships and clashes of personalities. Further, the types of accusations made against companies and their executives … invoke not just legal issues, but also public relations issues and personal reputation concerns.”

Samolis – a member of the 2010 PBN 40 Under Forty class –joined Partridge Snow & Hahn as a litigation associate in 2006 after clerking in the R.I. Superior Court and passing the bar in Rhode Island, Massachusetss and Illinois.

Her practice focuses on employment law issues in both the litigation and compliance contexts.

“On the compliance side, it is extremely fulfilling … to help clients identify which management techniques and policies best fit their vision of how their business will operate,” Samolis said. “On the litigation side, it is rewarding to be able to help clients … obtain favorable resolutions.”

Laura Pedrick, Partridge Snow & Hahn’s marketing director, said Samolis has always been driven by the desire be recognized as the “go-to” employment lawyer.

“In all that she does, as an attorney, a partner, as an involved member of nonprofit organizations and in the community, she stays focused on that goal,” Pedrick said. “She is sensitive to what [clients] need … and consistently delivers on that.” •
