Sandywood ribbon cutting set

Posted 11/18/11

TIVERTON – Sandywood Farms, an arts and agriculture community near Route 81, is holding a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of the 74-unit development and its wind turbine next month.

Construction of Sandywood Farms began in the summer of 2009 and included the creation of 50 rental cottages and 24 lots for single-family homes, a community farm and art gallery. Most of the development’s electricity is to be generated by the wind turbine.

The project, developed by Church Community Housing Corp. of Newport, was designed by Donald Powers Architects.

The ribbon cutting is scheduled for Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. on 43 Muse Way, Tiverton.
