Santander ‘loves’ its customers

BOSTON – Santander Bank NA earlier this month announced its new initiative “I LOVE MY BANK,” which the bank says aims to strengthen its connection with customers and colleagues.
The initiative, which includes a chance for eligible employees to win a 2015 FIAT 500 Sport HB, was announced the day after the Federal Reserve Bank failed Santander’s parent company Santander Holdings USA in the second round of its “stress test,” which evaluates how banks would do under extreme economic conditions.
The bank says the initiative “will harness the power of the Bank’s most important asset by transforming colleagues into brand advocates.”
“Investing in our company culture through programs such as I LOVE MY BANK demonstrates how highly we value our colleagues and empower them to serve as ambassadors for the Santander brand,” said Roman Blanco, Santander Bank CEO, in a statement. “It underscores the critical role they play in ensuring we deliver on our promise to provide unparalleled customer service.”
It is also launching an “in-branch listening tour” across its northeast footprint. Through March 27, the bank will try to engage with customers to solicit feedback on their experience with Santander.
“Going directly into the communities we serve, personally engaging with our customers and hearing what they have to say will provide invaluable feedback in helping us develop the products and services to enhance their banking experience. It is essential to our on-going effort to bring value back to banking,” Blanco said.
