WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Customers of Savings Institute Bank & Trust will notice a fresh look to their online banking experience on Sept. 18 after the bank upgrades its Personal Online Banking and BOE Lite systems.
The new site design will allow more layout customization and functionality. Customers will be able to set budgets by category and establish saving goals, among other new functions. There also will be a virtual on/off switch for debit cards, in case a card is lost or stolen.
The SI Mobile iOS and Android apps also will receive a makeover. New mobile functions will include bill paying, fund transfers (between accounts or to others) and a branch/ATM locator. The app also will include a browser option in case users need to access the website while on the run. The newly-renovated apps will be available on Sept. 22.
After the online banking overhaul, all bill payees and recurring transfers and login information will remain the same. However, users will have to re-establish any account alerts that were previously set.
The new mobile app will be available alongside the old one in Google Play and the Apple App Store, so users will not receive an update notification. Instead, they will have to manually download the new app and delete the current app. The current mobile app and browser services will be discontinued on Oct. 31.
As the server gets upgraded, Personal Online Banking and BOE Lite will be unavailable from Sept. 17 at 2:50 p.m. to Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. All scheduled bill payments must be made prior to this date to ensure delivery. Business Online Express will not be affected. Questions about the update can be made to the Savings Bank Institute & Trust Call Center at (860) 423-4581 or (800) 423-0142.
