School of Engineering building, Brown University

The new building, located on a block of Brook Street, will include 20 laboratory modules within its 80,000 square feet. The facility will include specialized space for nanoscale and biomedical engineering, according to the university. The $88 million project began in late 2015, after the launch of a fundraising campaign in 2013. The building, once completed, will include “clean rooms” that are designed to expand Brown’s ability to engineer artificial tissue and organs, among other research projects. The architect is Kieran Timberlake of Philadelphia. Project manager and builder is Shawmut Design and Construction of Providence.
