Schwartz hosts Harvest Night

Posted 11/30/12

The Schwartz Center for Children’s recent Harvest Night celebration was an evening filled with pumpkin and cookie decorating, storytelling and crafts.

On Oct. 26, more than 130 children and their family members arrived at the center to take part in the annual event. Participants wore a variety of costumes as they socialized and performed craft projects during the free night of family fun.

Attendee Cheryl Rowe said her son, Jared, looks forward to the event each year.

“He loves all the activities that the Schwartz Center provides for him,” she said. “His favorite part of Harvest Night is picking his pumpkin and spending time with his friends.”

The event is organized the center’s Family Involvement Committee, which works to provide accessible fun and activities to children of all abilities.

The Schwartz Center, a nonprofit organization, serves children with a variety of developmental delays and disabilities from birth to age 22.
