Scott Biren Laurans has been named chairman of the board at Lifespan. Laurans is currently a managing director in the Rhode Island office of BNY Mellon. He has been a member of the Lifespan board of directors since 1994. Previously, Laurans served on the boards of Rhode Island Hospital, the R.I. Department of Economic Development, the R.I. Port Authority, the Wheeler School and the YMCA, among others. •
