WESTERLY – Seasons at the Ocean House has been recognized by Open Table as one of the 100 best brunch restaurants in America.
The list, released in advance of Mother’s Day on May 10, was compiled based on opinions of more than 5 million restaurant reviews submitted by OpenTable diners between April 1, 2014, and March 31, according to the online dining reservation website.
Restaurants were scored according to the percentage of qualifying reviews for which “great for brunch” was selected as a special feature, OpenTable said.
Seasons, in the Watch Hill section, was the only Rhode Island restaurant recognized on the list, which also features other New England destinations such as Café Fleuri in Boston and Pond House Café in West Hartford, Conn.
New York had the greatest number of winning restaurants with 15.
“Thanks to the incredible dining experience at these restaurants, brunch has become the highlight of diners’ weekends,” Caroline Potter, OpenTable chief dining officer, said in a statement. “Saturdays and Sundays are always fun days when you’re raising a perfect Bloody Mary and tucking into delicious chicken and waffles or eggs Benedict with friends and family.”
Seasons also was recently recognized by Forbes Travel Guide, which gave it a Five Star rating. It was the only Rhode Island restaurant to receive the rating – Forbes’ highest – in 2015.
This week, Seasons’ breakfast menu features selections including spring mushrooms, rhubarb stuffed French toast, and two Connecticut hen eggs with Applewood smoked bacon, maple-herb sausage, chicken sage sausage or black forest ham.
