Serve Rhode Island launches HandsOn Connect

Serve Rhode Island, the state’s volunteer center and commission for national and community service, is now connecting volunteers and nonprofit organizations through a new website called HandsOn Connect.
The volunteer connection service allows individuals looking to volunteer to register with the site free of charge for details on more than 170 opportunities with a variety of agencies.
Nonprofit organizations may also register with the site for a fee to connect with other organizations from around the state, share ideas and resources and post volunteer opportunities. Membership includes an individual membership to the Volunteers Managers Association and allows organizations to have their volunteer opportunities promoted in the Providence Sunday Journal.
The annual membership fee for a nonprofit organization is $175. Discounts are available to agencies that participated in the 2012 State Service Plan Survey or have an annual budget of less than $100,000. For more information or to access HandsOn Connect, visit www.volunteer.serverhodeisland.org.
