Sheahan named COO for Rockland Trust

ROCKLAND, Mass. – Denis K. Sheahan has been named chief operating officer for Rockland Trust Co., the commercial bank subsidiary of Independent Bank Corp., according to an announcement from the bank.
Sheahan has been with the bank for 17 years and was previously chief financial officer. He will continue to oversee residential mortgages, corporate compliance and risk management, municipal services, information technology, loan operations and facilities.
“Maximizing the value of our existing business intelligence capabilities is a key Rockland Trust priority,” said Independent Bank Corp. and Rockland Trust President and CEO Christopher Oddleifson. “We are fortunate to have Denis and other seasoned and talented colleagues ready to assume new roles to assist with growing and deepening customer relationships, while improving the quality and cost of our service.”
Rockland Trust also announced the appointment of Robert D. Cozzone as chief financial officer and treasurer of Independent Bank Corp. and Rockland Trust. Cozzone has been with the bank for 15 years and has worked in interest rate risk management, capital strategy oversight, asset/liability management and budget preparation and financial forecasting oversight.
Massachusetts-based Rockland Trust has two Rhode Island locations, a commercial lending center and an investment management office, both in Providence.
