Sheri L. Smith has been appointed chairwoman of the Roger Williams Medical Center board of trustees. She is professor emeritus of philosophy at Rhode Island College and has been a member of the Roger Williams Medical Center board of trustees since 2006. Smith also serves on the board of CharterCare Health Partners and the Hospital Association of Rhode Island board of trustees. •
