Should Tom Brady have revealed that the rehabilitation of his knee is going well?

At a charity event last week, New England Partiots quarterback Tom Brady responded to questions about how his surgically reconstructed knee was doing by revealing that he would be ready for training camp this summer.

On a team whose culture values secrecy - the better to keep opponents from being able to prepare for the personnel that will be on the field - Brady’s revelation was unexpected.

In addition to making the lives of Patriots’ opponents in the upcoming season a little bit simpler (although not easier, given Brady’s three Super Bowl victories), there are questions whether the news will make it more difficult for the team to get full value in case they decide to trade backup Matt Cassel.

In a profession that values team cohesiveness, was Tom Brady out of line by revealing his progress on rehabbing his knee?
