The Week's Poll

Should Twin River and Newport Grand both be allowed to become full-fledged casinos?

Posted 1/22/12

With a the creation of a resort casino in Massachusetts looming over the future success of Rhode Island’s two slots parlors, Twin River and Newport Grand, momentum is growing to allow both of the Ocean State facilities to be turned into full casinos, complete with table games and 24x7 operations.

Do you think that is a good idea, and for both gaming spots, or just one?

I'm not opposed to gambling, I just don't think it is a good investment right now. The two CT casino's are struggling and it is non-value added economic activity unless it attracts visitors. There is a finite market for everything. Monday, January 23, 2012|Report this
