Trinity Repertory Co. will explore themes of love, prejudice and vengeance in its production of Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice,” opening in previews Friday. The cast, directed by Trinity Rep Artistic Director Curt Columbus, includes company members Stephen Berenson as moneylender Shylock; Stephen Thorne as Bassanio, the lovesick borrower; and Joe Wilson Jr. as Antonio, the anti-Semitic loan guarantor. Opening night’s show is pay-what-you-can, and there will be a “Food for Thought” discussion following the 7:30 p.m. show on Sunday, Feb. 5.
