Society creates military membership

NEWPORT – The Preservation Society of Newport County has created a membership dedicated to the military that includes free admission to the mansions.
Active, reserve or retired members of the military can now purchase dual or household memberships in the Preservation Society for $15 off the regular price of those memberships.
The dual membership, $60, provides full benefits for two adults living in the same household. The household membership, $75, covers two adults and all children 17 and under living in the same household.
Membership benefits in the Preservation Society include free admission to regular tours of the mansions for a year, discounted admission to The Elms Servant Life Tour, a 10-percent discount on purchases in the Newport mansions stores, and savings on special events and academic programs.
New benefits include discounts on Newport harbor tours with several local harbor tour companies, and exclusive invitations to free members-only programs throughout the year.
The Preservation Society of Newport County, R.I., is a nonprofit accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and dedicated to preserving and interpreting the area’s historic architecture, landscapes, decorative arts and social history.
