Solar project live in Richmond

RICHMOND – A 500-kilowatt solar project is now occupying 6.8 acres of land in Richmond, near Interstate 95.
The array, owned and operated by Nexamp Inc., will generate tax revenue for the town and produce enough solar energy to power 100 homes, according to a company spokeswoman.
Nexamp, based in Boston, has installed more than 200 solar energy systems in New England, including 3.1 megawatts in Rhode Island to date. The company installed a rooftop solar array, the largest in New England, on the former U.S. Navy Seabees facilities at the Quonset Business Park.
