South County Health’s annual meeting features Trinity Rep actors

NARRAGANSETT – This year’s South County Health annual meeting features a new approach: Anne Scurria and Tim Crowe, two of the most respected resident artists at Trinity Repertory Company, will perform a dramatization about palliative care.
Including this short play, which will also include SCH palliative care team members, in the meeting is one way to publicize the board’s vision, said Eve Keenan, chair of SCH’s board of trustees. “We are committed to connecting with the community to support every stage of life,” said Keenan, in a press release. “Palliative care is very important for this mission, and we were looking for another avenue to tell the story. Most people in the community confuse hospice care with palliative care, and we thought this would be a good way to separate the two.”
In addition, the Physician of the Year Award, the President’s Award and the Chairman’s Award will be given to honorees.
The annual meeting will be held at The Towers, 35 Ocean Road, Narragansett, at 5:30 p.m. The dramatization with actors Crowe and Scurria begins at approximately 6:25 p.m., and refreshments will be available at 7 p.m. The meeting is open to the SCH community – its board of trustees, senior leadership, medical staff, staff and volunteers – as well as members of the community.
