South County rated No. 1 in patient satisfaction

WAKEFIELD – For the ninth-consecutive quarter, South County Hospital achieved patient satisfaction scores in the 99th percentile, the highest in Rhode Island, according to hospital officials.
The results were based on responses to a detailed questionnaire sent monthly to patients by Press Ganey, a national leader in patient satisfaction surveys. The surveys covered many aspects of patient care, including: how patients’ family and visitors were treated; room comfort and cleanliness; the attentiveness of nurses and other caregivers; pain management; food; tests and treatments; clarity of instructions; and discharge planning information.
“We are gratified that our patients are so satisfied with the care they receive here,” said South County President and CEO Lou Giancola. “For more than two years, the hospital has ranked No. 1 in patient satisfaction in Rhode Island, an accomplishment we are proud of.”
