Total Fitness Clubs recently announced that its Bristol club raised more than $18,000 for the American Cancer Society during this year’s annual Pedal to End Cancer (formerly Spin for Hope) event.
Sixty-six spinners participated in the three-hour indoor cycling fundraiser to benefit cancer research, education, advocacy and services. Participants spun as a one-person team for all three hours or formed teams and split the time.
“This has been a record-breaking year for Total Fitness for both participation and raising money for the American Cancer Society. Total Fitness would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to all the participants who contributed to the success of this great cause,” said Laura Jenkins, group exercise director, Total Fitness Clubs. “We’re especially proud of Total Fitness member Andrea Alexander who was the top ‘Pedal to End Cancer 2014’ fundraiser in all of New England, for raising $8,250.”
Other participants of the event included: John Holahan, of Coca-Cola, who donated all of the beverages and coolers; Stephan Brigidi of Bristol Workshops, who photographed the event and Total Fitness members, staff and instructors. •
