Starkweather & Shepley, PURE Insurance raise $5K for nonprofits

EAST PROVIDENCE – Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Corp. of Massachusetts and PURE Insurance raised over $5,000 during their VIP Reception at the Boston Winery in Dorchester.
Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Corp. of Massachusetts is a division of the East Providence-based Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc.
The insurance companies raise the funds through a silent auction and raffle, and the proceeds were donated to the Boston Red Sox Foundation and the Make a Wish Foundation of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, according to a press release.
The auction featured items from the Red Sox, the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins, along with such donated items as a gift certificate to the Pequot Hotel on Martha’s Vineyard.
Some of the items that were auctioned off included a Tom Brady autographed helmet, a signed plaque of Bobby Orr’s famous “The Goal” photograph and a Rob Gronkowski autographed football. Guests were given the opportunity to take photos with the 2004 World Series Trophy since Starkweather partnered with the Red Sox at the event.
“We wanted to thank everyone who participated in this event, whether it was helping organize it or the participants who made it a wonderful evening. We pride ourselves on our two biggest assets, our employees and our clients, and this event celebrated them both. I am thrilled to have partnered with two wonderful charitable organizations and hope we can harvest that relationship toward future endeavors,” said Andrew Fotopulos, Starkweather & Shepley’s Massachusetts office president.
