More than 200 schools, libraries, Y's, and other youth groups and organizations have signed up to participate in an Act of Solidarity on behalf of the health of our young children when, on March 11th, simultaneous readings of "Is Your Hair Made Of Donuts?" will commence throughout the state of RI.

Assisting in this enormous effort are local celebrities from television and media, as well as seven city/town Mayors. The mayors of Providence, Cranston, Warwick, North Providence, Johnston, Pawtucket and Central Falls have signed up to read in local classrooms in their city.

Corporate sponsors to date include: Sodexo, United Natural Foods (UNFI), Whole Foods Market, East Side Marketplace, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI, and Doctor Daycare, as well as East Providence Boys & Girls Club iproviding administrative support.

The reading of this book encourages children and empowers them to think about the food they eat, and to make healthier food choices.

For more information, to sign up to read in your community, to recruit a school or youth group, email joy@joyfeldman.com or nthomas@tapestrycommunications. More information is also available at www.isyourhairmadeofdonuts.com.
