Steward, IPC The Hospitalist Company expand partnership

Posted 8/24/13

BOSTON – Steward Health Care System, a for-profit hospital network in Massachusetts, has signed a definitive agreement with IPC The Hospitalist Co. for the provision of acute care hospitalist services overseeing staffing, clinical leadership and performance management. The deal is expected to close in September.

In addition, IPC, based in North Hollywood, Calif., will collaborate on a number of facility-specific and system-wide initiatives to further enhance the quality, safety and efficiency within the Steward system.

Dr. Adam Singer, chairman and CEO of IPC, said that the new partnership represented a significant opportunity to bring systemic improvements to the quality and efficiency of care. “We look forward to helping Steward realize its goal of becoming an increasingly valuable health care resource to each community it serves,” he said.
