PROVIDENCE – Former R.I. Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Keith W. Stokes has joined The Mayforth Group, the Providence-based consulting firm announced Wednesday.
Stokes, who assumed his role as president of strategic economic planning and development on Sept. 4, left the EDC in May amid fallout from the state’s $75 million loan guarantee to failed video game maker 38 Studios LLC.
The firm hired Stokes as part of its decision to expand its economic planning and development consulting services.
“With the addition of Keith Stokes to our staff, we can offer experienced, strategic counsel to guide municipalities, small businesses and community organizations using a full array of economic planning, evaluation, development and implementation, advocacy and grant-writing expertise,” Rick McAuliffe, Mayforth Group chairman, said in prepared remarks.
“Collaboratively, we’re now able to offer our clients – large and small – the leadership, vision and solutions that will optimize their competitive positioning in today’s market,” added McAuliffe.
Stokes, who joined Mayforth with more than 25 years of experience in local, state and regional economic development planning, administration and public policy research, will split his time between the company’s Providence and Washington offices
