The Tomaquag Museum will celebrate the Native American Strawberry Thanksgiving this Saturday. Native Americans in this region traditionally observe 13 Thanksgivings throughout the year; Strawberry Thanksgiving celebrates the first berry of the growing season. There will be a ceremony led by tribal elder Dawn Dove, followed by a social dance. This event will also be the conclusion of the museum’s “Meet the Author Series”; Robert Peters will discuss and sign his new children’s book, “Da Goodie Monsta”.
