The student center now under construction at New England Institute of Technology is intended to provide services for students commuting to campus, as well as those who will be living in its first residence hall, due to be completed in July 2017. The student center will be a three-story, 40,000-square-foot facility. The $14 million project is expected to be finished by early summer 2017. It will have expanded, table-dining options for students, as well as a café and a convenience store. The building will also include gathering spaces for students, a fitness center and a patio on the second floor with outdoor seating. The architects are: Robert Stillings, owner of Architectural Resources Inc., of Providence; Saccoccio and Associates Architects, of Cranston; and Connor Architecture, of Lexington, Mass. The general contractor is Anodyne, of East Providence.
