ARLINGTON, Va. – A survey of more than 1,500 firms found 71 percent of construction companies plan to expand their payrolls this year, according to the Associated General Contractors of America.
Contractors expect a range of public and private opportunities, according to the survey, conducted as part of a report, “The Challenges Facing a Growing Industry: the 2016 Construction Industry Hiring and Business Outlook.”
The optimism expressed in the survey comes despite challenges including tight labor supply, regulatory burdens and Internet-based security challenges, the report found.
