PROVIDENCE – Forbes Magazine has named Swipley Inc. one of “America’s Most Promising Companies.”

Founded by Angus Davis in 2009, Swipely made the list of 100 high-growth privately-held companies after a six-month review of thousands of applications that looked at sales and hiring growth, quality of management team and investors, margins, market size and key partnerships. Swipely is the first Rhode Island company to make the list.

The company, which started out as a universal rewards program for small merchants through credit card purchases, has gained greater notoriety and market size since the launch in April of its Main Street Marketing Manager program, which uses “big data” analytics to help small and medium-size businesses to better understand and market to their customers. According to a company release, Swipely currently has more than $400 million in sales under management with data on more than 875,000 consumers.

In addition to the company recognition, Davis was named to Forbes’ list of “America’s Most Promising CEOs Under 35.”
