SWIPELY, THE PROVIDENCE-BASED vendor of payment, analytics and marketing tools, now manages more than $1 billion in annual sales for nearly 4 million consumers in 29 states, the company reported Tuesday.

PROVIDENCE – Swipely announced Tuesday that it now manages more than $1 billion in annual sales for merchants across 29 states, one year after adding payment services to its lineup of analytics and marketing tools.

The Providence-based vendor said it has doubled sales under management in the last four months and expanded its platform support to more than 100 point-of-sale systems that merchants use every day, including Micros, Aloha and POSitouch.

“Swipely turns the big data behind payments into actionable insights local merchants value to understand customers and increase sales, without any new costs,” said Angus Davis, founder and CEO of Swipely, in a release. “From this foundation, we’re growing our product into an operating system for local commerce that extends our market-leading payments and analytics service into valuable additional tools that help small businesses win.”

The company, founded in 2009, has hired 35 new employees in the last year and plans to add approximately 15 more before the end of 2013, according to a Swipely spokesperson.
