T.F. Green opens cell phone lot

WARWICK – T.F. Green Airport has opened a cell phone waiting lot at 2282 Post Road for motorists meeting arriving passengers, the airport announced Monday.

The 50-space parking lot, which is a 2 to 3 minute drive to the arrivals’ area, is designed to accommodate drivers who would normally circle around the airport’s arrivals area to avoid paying parking fees in the short term lot.

According to an airport release, the free, well-lit lot will be maintained by both Standard Parking and the Rhode Island Airport Corporation.

RIAC police will monitor the lot and unattended vehicles will be subject to fines or towing.

Motorists who wish to meet arriving passengers in the terminal must pay for storm term parking, which is located directly in front of the terminal building in lot D.
