T.F. Green traveler numbers drop in June

WARWICK – Passenger numbers at T.F. Green Airport declined 7.37 percent in June compared with the same period in 2011.

The airport saw 323,716 travelers in June, down 25,745 from the 257,143 seen in June 2011, according to figures released by the R.I. Airport Corporation.

Southwest Airlines dominated the market, transporting 50.2 percent T.F. Green travelers during the month.

U.S. Airways came in second at 22.3 percent. Delta came in third and United Airlines in fourth with 14.6 percent and 12.1 percent of the airport’s June travelers, respectively.

In June, Hyannis Air accounted for 0.4 percent of passenger traffic and Air Canada held 0.3 percent.

Only 208 passengers took charter flights out of T.F. Green in June, accounting for 0.1 percent of the market.

Through June, passenger traffic has declined 3.43 percent to 1.8 million, a decline from the 1.9 million in the first six months of 2011.
