PROVIDENCE – TPI Composites Inc. announced yesterday that it is adding composite tooling production capabilities to its facility in Taicang Port, Jiangsu, China.
TPI, an Arizona-based global supplier of wind turbine blades and other composite structures, currently produces wind blade molds at its Tooling Technology Center in Warren.
Although the company will continue to support the North American market from Rhode Island, TPI stated that the Tooling Technology Center will transfer the best of TPI’s technology to the China operation to produce tooling to international specifications.
“TPI’s Taicang facility has operated since 2008, and manufactured thousands of blades to internationally accepted high-quality standards,” said Jun Ji, vice president of Asia and European operations, in a release. “We have started production of our first set of wind blade molds in China and are looking to add more customers.”
In other news, TPI announced Wednesday the appointment of William E. Siwek as chief financial officer.
Siwek joins TPI after serving as the CFO for T.W. Lewis Co., an Arizona-based real estate investment company.
“Bill brings a great combination of financial and operational expertise developed through his various senior executive roles and responsibilities,” said Steve Lockard, TPI CEO, in a release. “We are thrilled to have him as a key part of our executive leadership team.”
