Taco acquiring Italian pump maker

CRANSTON – Taco Comfort Solutions, a Taco Group Co., announced on Friday that it will acquire Askoll Sei, a pump manufacturer in Sandrigo, Italy.

Taco, in a news release, said it signed an agreement with Askoll Holding to acquire its Askoll Sei division which makes high-efficiency pumps. Terms were not disclosed. Taco said that the acquisition advances its strategic partnership with Askoll, an Italian pump manufacturer.

The partnership with Askoll was announced by Taco last November. At the time, Taco said the two companies would collaborate on product research and development.

The latest agreement was signed at Askoll’s world headquarters in Dueville, Italy by Elio Marioni, Askoll’s founder and president, and John Hazen White Jr., CEO and chairman of the board of Taco Group.

The new Taco Group company has been named Taco Italia srl and will use the trade name Askoll Flow Solutions, the release stated. The 84 employees in Italy will remain there.

With this acquisition, Taco said it has transitioned from being an American company to a global company.
Taco Comfort Solutions is a manufacturer of HVAC heating, cooling and plumbing products for the hospitality, education, municipal and residential markets.
