Why did you select your profession? Completing my undergraduate degree as a Latina, single parent, full-time professional and nontraditional student was a challenge that only a few understand. I knew sharing my knowledge and insight of my experience would be helpful to others. As a higher education professional I positively impact the college experience, retention and degree completion for students of color in Rhode Island.

What is your favorite Rhode Island restaurant? My local favorites are Los Andes and Apsara.

What’s the last book that you read and what quote can you remember from it? “Mindset” by Carol Dweck. She said “the view you adopt for yourself profoundly affects the way you lead your life.” It has given me perspective on my relationships and how to effectively praise and motivate my children. •
