The R.I. Division of Taxation will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 23, on a proposed regulation dealing with commercial farm related-items, according to an announcement in the division’s quarterly newsletter released April 9.

Tax division looking at farm bills

PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Division of Taxation will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 23, on a proposed regulation dealing with commercial farm related-items, according to an announcement in the division’s quarterly newsletter released April 9.

The proposed regulation, SU 14-151, includes material currently in three other regulations, which the Division of Taxation proposes to repeal. Those regulations are on “Farm Equipment and Farm Structure Construction Materials,” “Feeds, Fertilizer, Plants and Seeds, Cattle Bedding and Chicken Litter,” and “Livestock and Poultry.”

The public hearing will be at 9:30 a.m. at the Division of Taxation, One Capitol Hill in Providence.

The division has also proposed to repeal Regulation SU-87-11, “Boarding of Animals.”
