The Garage highlights ‘All Things Food’

PROVIDENCE – The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce today is highlighting some of the state’s top food companies at the Rhode Island Convention Center where the Rhode Island Business Plan Competition will also announce its 2015 winners later today.
The event, The Garage, is slated to begin at 1 p.m. and the theme is “All Things Food,” which sets the stage for businesses from different industries to participate in the state’s “vibrant food cluster,” according to Laurie White, chamber president.
“Spend an afternoon with us and gain a new and unexpected perspective,” she said in a statement. “Walk away with fresh ideas on how businesses can profit by tapping into an economic cluster that’s actually growing here in Rhode Island.”
White says The Garage, beyond the food, doubles as a networking event for business people to meet other “high-caliber business professionals” who are working across industries “to spark innovation” in the state.
The event is also the setting for the Rhode Island Business Plan Competition to announce its 2015 competition winners. The competition, which claims to be New England’s leading community supported business plan competition, will announce its award prizes valued at $200,000.
