The Maids …
satisfies every customer on every visit.
Jena Touray, vice president of operations for The Maids, is responsible for six Maids locations, including The Maids of West Warwick. The location’s Blue Team was recently selected from more than 800 teams as 2012 Team of the Year at The Maids Growth Summit, held in Las Vegas. The award is given to a team that consistently displays exceptional quality while performing job functions, and best reflects the ideas and standards of The Maids. Touray, a Woonsocket resident, has been with The Maids since 2010 and currently leads a management team of eight and 100 hourly employees.
PBN: Why do you think the Blue Team was selected as Team of the Year?
TOURAY: The Blue Team consists of an extremely special group of women. They are fully dedicated to exceeding their customers’ expectations and take great pride in their work. The Blue Team is led by Rosa Vasquez, whose leadership skills and commitment to quality are evident to both her customers and her fellow employees. Working effortlessly together, the Blue Team consistently follows The Maids’ cleaning system and satisfies every customer on every visit.
PBN: Tell us about a typical day on the job.
TOURAY: Our typical day starts with a brief meeting, during which we read our mission statement and review each customer’s profile. The Maids uses teams of four, who arrive at each home with all of the equipment and supplies needed for the job. Each team member focuses on a different area of the home – kitchen, bathrooms, dusting and vacuuming, allowing us to clean efficiently. The Maids focuses on providing the highest-quality cleaning, while giving customers time to enjoy life.
PBN: Can you offer any tips for keeping the office tidy?
TOURAY: Absolutely! Keep microfiber cloths in your desk drawer for quick-everyday dusting. Disinfectant comes in handy for cleaning the keyboard, mouse and telephone, which are breeding grounds for germs. Make sure to use just enough product to be effective, spraying a cloth and then wiping items clean. To organize paperwork, label manila folders according to the financial papers that you deal with on a regular basis. Go through your stacks and file everything accordingly. Keep a paper shredder near the trash container to dispose of sensitive mail and other materials to protect your privacy. •
