Three local banks noted for marketing efforts in New England

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Bank Five, St. Anne’s Credit Union and The Washington Trust Co. took home honors in the recently awarded New England Financial Marketing Awards.
The second annual recognition program, put on by Agility Resources Group, was open to community banks and credit unions throughout the region and was judged by bank and credit union marketers from outside New England.
The awards for marketing were divided into six categories – brand, deposit, internal marketing, loan, public relations and service. In addition, the program gave Community Champion Awards for extraordinary service to their communities in six different categories: arts, civic involvement, economic development, financial education, inspiration and overall philanthropy.
BankFive, the Fall River-based community bank with 12 branches in Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Fall River, New Bedford, Somerset and Swansea, and a lending office in Taunton, took home best of show and gold for its “Deposit” campaign, produced by McDougal Interactive, in the $500 million to $1.5 billion asset division. In addition, BankFive took a bronze award for its brand campaign, also produced by McDougall Interactive.
St. Anne’s Credit Union, also based in Fall River, garnered three awards in the competition, taking home gold in public relations in the $500 million to $1.5 billion division for work produced by Sundin Associates and silver for internal marketing for work also done by Sundin Associates. In addition, St. Anne’s garnered a gold Community Champion Award in the inspiration category, the only institution to collect that award.
The Washington Trust Co. was the gold award winner for public relations in the Greater than $1.5 billion asset category for work done internally.
“We are thrilled to recognize and celebrate the incredible efforts of these outstanding organizations,” said Vincent M. Valvo, CEO of Agility Resources Group. “These banks and credit unions have demonstrated true creativity in their marketing efforts. In addition, they have gone above and beyond to make a difference in their communities and have greatly impacted the lives of many in need.”
