Top five R.I. job creators named by Inc. Magazine

WARWICK – Alliance Security Co. (formerly VMS Alarms) and Alex and Ani were among those recognized as top job producers in the state by Inc. Magazine on Friday. The companies were two of five Rhode Island businesses named in Inc.’s inaugural “Hire Power” awards.

Together, the five companies pulled in over $117 million in revenue in 2011while filling 360 new professional positions in the last three years.

Security and monitoring company Alliance, of Warwick, ranked first in the state, creating 177 positions in the last three years while grossing $19.5 million in 2011, employing 227 professionals.

Cranston-headquartered jewelry retailer Alex and Ani USA ranked second, producing 55 jobs and pulling in $17.4 million in 2011.

East Greenwich-based Bridge Technical Talent, formerly Bridge Technical Solutions, earned the No. 3 slot for creating 50 jobs. Bridge grossed $9 million in 2011 and employs a total of 50 people.

Amazing Charts of North Kingstown ranked fourth, filling 47 new positions and grossing $6.3 million in 2011.

Ranking fifth of Rhode Island’s top five job creating firms, Atrion filled new 31 positions in the last three years, generating $65 million in revenue in 2011 and employing a staff of over 160.
