Toray Plastics appoints Brandmeier executive VP

NORTH KINGSTOWN – Toray Plastics (America) Inc., the North Kingstown-based manufacturer of polypropylene films, announced Monday that Michael Brandmeier has been promoted to the position of executive vice president.
Following his promotion, Brandmeier will assume responsibility for the company’s three divisions – Torayfan Polypropylene Films, Lumirror Polyester Films and Toraypef Polyolefin Foams – and will continue to serve as a member of the Toray board of directors.
Brandmeier was formerly the company’s senior vice president and general manager of the Torayfan division. He joined Toray in 1995 as a director of sales for the Torayfan division, rising to the positions of senior director of sales and then vice president of sales and marketing. Brandmeier launched his career in the plastic-film industry 33 years ago at Mobil Chemical Company.
In a release announcing Brandmeier’s promotion, Toray also announced the promotions of Scott Van Winter to the position of senior vice president and general manager of the Lumirror division, Christopher Roy to the position of Torayfan division general manager and Lisa Ahart to the position of vice president of U.S. corporate human resources and environmental health and safety.
