Toray to build home for manufacturing equipment

NORTH KINGSTOWN – Toray Plastics (America) Inc. has started construction of a 28,800-square-foot building to house new manufacturing equipment. The facility is designed to accommodate a high-speed, 4.5-meter metallizer.
Construction is being managed by A. Autiello Construction, of Cranston, according to a news release. Construction is expected to be completed in December and production of the new metallizer will begin in 2017, according to Toray.
Christopher Roy, Vice President and General Manager of the Torayfan Division, said the expansion is an example of the company’s commitment to innovation in technology.
“The addition of this advanced metallizer is part of a multiyear strategic plan to expand and automate production capacities in order to support our customers’ growing demand and maintain our position as the highest-quality, lowest-cost metallizer in North America,” Roy said, in a released statement.
