Trinity, PPL offering program for students

PROVIDENCE – Trinity Repertory Company and the Providence Public Library are collaborating for the first time with TRRPL PLAY, a program for high school students looking for performance and playwriting opportunities.
Working alongside Trinity Rep’s professional theater instructors, students will adapt a young adult novel into a fully staged, traveling performance that will then tour local libraries. The program furthers Trinity Rep’s mission of bringing art to the community and into nontraditional public forums.
“Students in TRPPL Play will be their own adaptors, playwrights and directors,” said Jordan Butterfield, Trinity Rep education programs manager.
TRPPL PLAY! Runs Feb. 3-June 9 on Monday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Providence Public Library, 150 Empire St. Tuition is $250 and registration is open. Contact education@trinityrep.com to register. •
