PROVIDENCE – The Trinity Repertory Company added three actors to its resident acting company roster, the State Theater of Rhode Island announced Monday. The newest members join the company as it begins its 50th anniversary season this September with a production of “The Grapes of Wrath.”
The three performers, Mia Ellis, Rebecca Gibel and Charlie Thurston, are all Brown/Trinity Rep MFA acting program students and have each appeared in multiple Trinity Rep productions. Ellis put on a dual performance as Francine and Lena in the company’s production of “Clybourne Park.” Gibel is best known to local audiences from her role as Guenevere in Trinity Rep’s “Camelot”, according to the release. Thurston played poet Edgar Allen Poe in the production of “The Completely Fictional— Utterly True— Final Strange Tale of Edgar Allan Poe.”
“…I feel like I have found the three most perfect choices for our family,” Trinity Rep Artistic Director Curt Columbus said in a statement. “The shared talents of Mia, Rebecca and Charlie bring a whole new world of theatrical possibilities to the table.”
The company last added to its roster in 2005 when it brought on actor Joe Wilson, Jr.
