WATERTOWN – For the second time, Tufts Health Plan recently achieved certification confirming the company’s adherence to the international standards monitored by an industry group for all of its facilities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The audit confirming Tufts’ adherence was performed by BrightLine. In 2013, Tufts was the first health plan in the region to receive the certification.
The certification process also involved the efforts of cross-functional teams from eight different departments. More than 100 policies and procedures across 11 areas of focus, ranging from physical and electronic security and access control to human resources security and regulatory compliance, were reviewed and updated in anticipation of the audit.
