Tufts president wins March of Dimes honor

PROVIDENCE – James Roosevelt Jr., president and CEO of Tufts Health Plan, has been selected as Rhode Island’s Citizen of the Year by the March of Dimes.

The announcement will be made on March 7 at Women & Infants Hospital; a reception honoring Roosevelt will be held on June 15.

Roosevelt is the grandson of March of Dimes founder President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

March of Dimes picks a community leader based on support of the March of Dimes and its mission to improve the health of all babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality, a news release said.
