Tunstall to hold recruitment drive to fill call center positions

PAWTUCKET – Tunstall Americas, a division of U.K.-based Tunstall Healthcare Group, and a provider of health care communications services, is in the process of hiring 250 people to fully staff its new Pawtucket local and will hold a local recruitment drive on Friday, April 19, to find candidates.

The fair, planned in conjunction with the R.I. Department of Labor and Training, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on the second floor of the Pawtucket-owned downtown Visitor Center building at 175 Main St.

“We are happy to host Tunstall and work with RIDLT to help bring these jobs to our city,” Mayor Donald R. Grebien said in prepared remarks. “The one-stop recruitment system RIDLT is using will speed the process to hire skilled workers and get the call center up to its full planned capacity as soon as possible.”

“This labor-intensive operation will provide a significant boost to our local economy and we will continue to do everything we can to smooth the way for the company,” Grebien said in a statement.

At the job fair, Tunstall primarily plans to recruit the employees needed to answer calls from Tunstall clients who activate health-monitoring devices when encountering medical difficulties.

Further recruitment drives will be held for other positions needed at the call center, according to Tunstall’s Vice President of Human Resources Seth Muraskin.

“Our Business Workforce Center is delighted to assist with a recruiting event in Tunstall’s new backyard,” Department of Labor and Training Director Charles J. Fogarty said in a statement.

Interested applicants are asked to dress appropriately for an in-person job interview and to bring a current resume with employment history and references, or be prepared to fill out an application listing their qualifications.

According to a release, the jobs currently being filled require typing skills of a minimum of 30 words per minute, excellent spelling, grammar and communication skills and an “outstanding” work ethic.
