Sriracha is a type of hot sauce made from sun-ripened chilies. The hot sauce got its name from David Tran, who emigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam. After being unable to find a hot sauce he liked, Tran created his own recipe, which he modeled and named after the local hot sauces in Sri Racha, Thailand.
