DARTMOUTH – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has released “UMass Performance: Accountable and On the Move,” a plan for measuring the university’s performance across key areas, including improving student graduation rates, increasing alumni giving and campus-facility investments, that will be updated annually.

“The University of Massachusetts is deeply committed to creating more accountability and transparency to ensure that people from all walks of life – from the classroom to the boardroom – can easily see our performance and progress,” UMass President Robert Caret said in a statement. “We want to make it crystal clear that we’re holding ourselves to the highest standards and being as efficient as possible as we pursue our mission of excellence in teaching, research and public service.”

The report identifies six priority areas for the school’s five-campus system and 21 indicators that will be used to measure its progress. After the first year, the report will include a ratings system to describe goals status.

Benchmarks will be measured primarily by data collected on campuses and the university’s office of institutional research. •
