Nixon Peabody, Locke Lord named law firms of the year by U.S. News & World Report

PROVIDENCE – Two local law firms have been named “law firms of the year” for health care law and insurance law by U.S. News & World Report.
Nixon Peabody LLP was recognized for health care law and Locke Lord LLP was noted for insurance law, according to the publication, which looked at more than 12,000 firms to find the best in numerous practice areas.
Firms are evaluated on factors including client and lawyer evaluations, reviews by other lawyers in the field and information the law firms provide. They also must have at least one lawyer on The Best Lawyers in America list to be eligible, according to U.S. News.
Nixon Peabody, a national firm based in Boston, also has an office in Providence. It has 124 lawyers nationwide listed on U.S. News’ best lawyers list.
Other top local law firms on the health list include: Adler Pollock & Sheehan PC; Donoghue Barrett & Singal PC; Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP; Cameron & Mittleman LLP; Chace Ruttenberg & Freedman LLP; Pierce Atwood LLP; and Pannone Lopes Devereaux & West LLC.
Locke Lord LLP, based in Dallas, has an office in Providence; it had 141 lawyers listed on the best lawyers in America list. Other local firms making the insurance law list: Nixon Peabody, Hanson Curran LLP and Robinson & Cole LLP.
