BOSTON – J.D. Power and Associates ranked Verizon Wireless highest in network quality in New England in its 2012 Wireless Network Quality Performance Study, Verizon announced Thursday.

The study measured network quality among all U.S. wireless service providers based on factors that impact overall carrier performance.

Roughly 27,000 wireless subscribers were surveyed between January and June 2012 about their experiences with wireless voice, text messaging and data usage. Based on survey response, Verizon Wireless performed above the industry average in all of the six New England states.

“Today’s smartphones and tablets require a powerful network to maximize all of the apps, features and functionality that customers have come to rely on,” Christine Berberich, New England region president for Verizon Wireless, said in a statement.
